the nothsa netizen checklist

updated: 2/19/2024

ok so imagine this ur in an apocalyptic wasteland where ai has taken over and want to look badass i gotchu I GOTCHU.

take everything i say however the fuck you will because i am borderline schizophrenic.

⚠ warning: this is a long one ⚠

ESSENTIALS:

  • laptop ($100-$400 pricerange at least but DONT skip the next one for just a laptop)

    • at LEAST a cpu with 1.10ghz clock. AT LEAST. shouldn't matter what it's capable of.

    • install arch or fedora on that motherfucker and install your shit

    • treat it as a portable computer and nothing you can do alot on

  • powerful workstation that can run AI shit (rtx 3060+, ryzen 5 2600x and at LEAST 6 cores. AT LEAST.
    • make this shit look nice

      • single monitor at least, two preferred, go up to 4 but NOT overboard

      • any mechanical keyboard that isnt boring, i prefer black but whatever ur drift is

      • nice mouse, the shitty $20 amazon one works as long as it looks physically appealing

      • prefer an all black computer case, for the love of god learn how to and build it. no prebuilts.

      • DO NOT skip out on a desk. you NEED a good desk. make sure it looks nice too.

    • install linux onto it

      • for the LOVE OF GOD do not use ubuntu or any "fork" of another mainstream distro. use something like debian, fedora, arch, gentoo, no weird shit like kali.

    • (optional) disable Intel ME if you're a true privacy freak, literally rip the pins off.

    • enable SECURE ssh access or a more secure way of accessing it so you can access it remotely.

      • encrypt this shit I SWEAR TO GOD if you dont.

  • an obsession. and i mean an OBSESSION with computers.
    • you need to understand every part of a computer physically and linux completely.

    • preferably, you also want a website, potentially on the onion router for anomynity or however u spell that mf

  • storage media, computer parts, good tech etc
    • 4-6x USB sticks (16-32gb in size)

      • each usb will be used to boot into a live usb environment of a linux distro

        • use Rufus on a windows partition on your laptop or something (since it probably came with windows anyways) to flash each linux distro to the usb with at least 50% persistence.

        • use any of the following distros for your needs

          • [1] Kali Linux (only for out of box tools however this is useless as fuck and only for the lazy)

            • make sure you have at least wifite2 so you can access wifi in places you dont otherwise have access.

            • for the love of god do this anonymously or you will get flagged and unable to access any wifi anywhere anymore

          • [2] Fedora

          • [3] Debian

          • etc...

      • use any leftover usbs for quick file transfers but NEVER permanant storage. also use them incase you dont want to look suspicious in public.

    • 4 portable harddrives anywhere from 256GB-1TB in size

    • any important tech or even old tech, just hoard it all. take computers apart and store working parts (or parts you repair) for safekeeping later.

  • a good sturdy backpack

    • make sure it has lots of compartments, preferably:

      • has 3 top pockets at least:

        • one BIG compartment with a laptop sleeve or something

        • a slightly smaller but almost equally sized compartment, preferably with a zip-up compartment inside

        • a front smaller pocket with lots of organizational shit

      • it probably has a front zip-up pocket, too. put shit like pens or USBs in there preferably.

    • always keep your portable harddrives, usbs, laptop, phone, etc in the backpack.

  • a good android phone

    • once you get one, install a custom rom onto it. dont know which one just do it.

    • you almost exclusively only need this for texting/calling and that is IT. doesn't need to be crazy but get an android one (at least a samsung note 7 or something) if you want more.

  • access to artificial intelligence

    • remember that main desktop from earlier? you can setup an AI api endpoint (coding required or use one on github, even if its ollama) to run an ai chatbot you can send requests to from anywhere

    • become knowledgable in AI (specifically large language models.)

      • here are some VERY good models and usecases (THIS WILL CHANGE FAST SO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH):

        • [Mistral 7B] this is hands-down the best chatbot for anything

          • prefer this model for most use. extremely good in most subjects but not as good as dolphin mixtral 8x7b

        • [Dolphin Mixtral 8x7B] this is the best model period in terms of performance but not efficiency. you will want a very beefy computer to run this and expect slower responses by alot.

        • [Llama 2 7B] best general use model especially for things that arent chatbot related (rare use cases) but prefer mistral over this

        • do note all of these are best in GGUF format with at LEAST 50 layers offloaded to the graphics card.

there is one very important rule: DONT THROW AWAY ANYTHING THAT YOU DONT NEED OR IS NOT ON THE REQUIREMENTS.

store them safely and securely in your home, apartment or otherwise "base of operations".

LEARN THE FOLLOWING:

  • how to program

    • learn at LEAST the following programming languages / markups

      • [Python 3] Extremely useful for ANY AI development.

      • [C++] Extremely fast language that can do just about anything. Half of Python 3's AI packages are just "APIs" for C++ projects if that says anything.

      • [HTML] literally the core of any web development (except for those weird people using proper and "modern" practices /hj)

      • [CSS] the correct way to style HTML and any other elements

      • [Javascript] best way to develop on the web, just dont use bad practices. also has uses outsided of the web due to it being so lightweight.

        • for the love of god, create a proper directory structure and links for HTML, CSS, and JS. if you dont i will kill you. literally.

    • this also means learn how to READ programming languages, even if you don't know how to program in them. usually its straightforward and i dont expect you to be able to read raw machine code let alone assembly.

  • how AI works

    • at least learn how the following ai models function:

      • [Stable Diffusion] usually used for image and art generation, learning how it works will teach you how to recognize if its ai generated

      • [Language Models] generally very useful to know but not required probably

      • [Vision Models/Object Recognition Models] i forgot why its useful but i swear to god its useful as FUCK.

    • train at least one model, preferably an AI handwritten number recognition model

      • this will teach you how the brain of any AI actually works and the concepts behind it.

      • this is also an extremely accessible model to train and run on almost any hardware without a graphics card

      • preferably use 16x16 or 26x26 images for the numbers or it might take a while to train (check hardware support

  • how to not look suspicious

    • preferably, observe other people in your surroundings and mimic them. autistic people already have this fucking nailed iykyk

  • at the same time, how to look like you know what you're doing all the time

    • this is mostly to intimidate people or to look busy.

    • at the same time. you want to actually KNOW what you're doing. only use this skill when you NEED to look busy or something

  • how to not lie to yourself

    • no, you aren't the greatest person to ever live or grace this god forsaken planet because you learned how to download a github tool and launch a webserver.

    • you also arent because you know everything above or everything i've listed or WILL list. figure out how to be good at shit but dont ever expect yourself to be the top of the chain anywhere. stay humble. or not, i dont give two fucks.

    • point is keep fucking learning how to do shit dont stop because u think ur the best or at the very least very good

this list is a WIP and is to be continued.

list is also written entirely for fun
